Sunday Travels: Con-Con

Well, after resting for the night, we got up around 9am today (Sunday / Domingo). We decided we would travel to a town not to far away called Con-Con. There are many towns that are located on the coast of Chile, Chile is 4300 km long (2671 miles), so there are a lot of possibilities to pick from when choosing a coastal town. We chose Con-Con because it was not too far away, we could make a day trip out of it and Con-Con is known for their very tasty Sea food. We were excited because we have not had any sea food yet, and we figured it would be pretty fresh considering it is located right on the coast. The bus trip was rather short, it probably took around 45 minutes. Once in Con-Con we explored the beach and many of the resturaunts to see who had the best sea food for the best price. We finally settled on one and it was a good choice.

The coast line in Chile is very unique. You can be walking on a flat beach with no dunes or hills or rocks, and then drive 15 minutes down the road and see a beach full of jagged rocks and huge cliffs. Con-Con offered, unlike Maintecillo, a beach full of jagged rocks and huge boulders. The surf was rather rough in Con-Con and it seemed to attract the local surfers. Please enjoy the pictures of us in Con-Con, Chile.

Pelicans and Seagulls.

These are the largest Pelicans that any of us have ever seen. Look at the size of the Seagull compared to the Pelican.

A view of the Sailboat Marina. We have yet to see any type of fishing boat or charter boats in Chile. We are not sure how they catch the fish, nor how they transport it back from the ocean to the market.

Yes, in Chile, the Birds are as large as Steve.
