Good evening!
Tomorrow the three fearless explorers will be getting up extra early to walk to the bus terminal on the other side of Valparaiso, then catch a bus to Santiago, then ride the metro from one end of the city to the other, and then catch a bus to the small city of San Alfonso in the Cajon del Maipo which is almost in the Andes Mountains in order to spend the weekend roasting hotdogs and s'mores over a fire in a cabaƱa in the woods!
If you think that's a little crazy then you're probably right, but we're going to do it anyway because we're young and reckless and crazy is what we do best. Plus we may never be in Chile again and in a few years, we'll be old enough to know better (maybe).
Wish us luck! Hopefully my favorite outdoorsmen Steve and Kareem will know a thing or two about starting fires. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that (tight jeans aside) these are two very capable young men and I am quite confident of our survival. So we are signing out until Sunday night! Hopefully we'll have some great pictures to post!
Kisses,
Janny, Kareemo, y Esteban

Oooh, the Andes! I've always wondered what they looked like, and they always sounded so exciting and intimidating and large. Have fun camping! Just make sure you always have a book of matches with you. With fire, you can do *anything* if you're lost and need help. This is a great blog - keep up the great updates! And I'll try posting more while you're still there, Janet. Hope you're having fun!
David (your bro)
Keep up the good work.
